Inflatable Fishing Boats - A Viable Alternative

What, you've never considered an inflatable boat for fishing? You may want to. If you want to talk about a quality alternative to high cost boats, inflatable fishing boats are the way to go. Not only are they a ton less expensive than traditional boats, they are amazingly convenient as well. Imagine being able to carry your fishing boat in the trunk of your car, then simply inflating it when you arrive at your fishing destination? And I'm not referring to children's play toys when I refer to inflatable fishing boats. I'm referring to high quality inflatable fishing boats. The kind of quality that can stand up to not only a dogs paws, but also class IV rapids and being pounded on with a hammer!
Quality fishing boats like I'm referring to come in a variety of styles. Some of the styles that I'm referring to are kayaks, canoes, pontoon boats, and even motor mount boats, all of which are inflatable. There is no better way to navigate small river than with a quality inflatable fishing boat. I personally like to fish small rivers and my inflatable pontoon boat is a godsend. The efficiency with which I can cover water is almost unreal. My fishing buddy prefers his inflatable kayak to accomplish the same thing on small rivers.
If you don't like the idea of spending upwards of $10,000 for a fishing boat, do a little research on quality inflatable fishing boats. I think you'll be glad you did. The best manufacturers even have package deals to help you save money and many times even include shipping and handling. The bottom line is that a quality inflatable fishing boat may just be the answer that your looking for.

The Best Inflatable Canoes Have These 3 Things in Common

If you are in the market for an inflatable canoe you need to make sure that whatever type you choose to purchase has these 3 things in common. Wasting money on an inferior product is something that doesn't need to happen. As long as the inflatable canoe has these three things in common you'll know that you're purchasing a quality product, and purchasing a quality product is key when you're dealing with inflatable canoes.
You can go out to your local box store, pick up an inflatable canoe and be on the water in a matter of minutes, but although this is inexpensive and convenient, it doesn't mean that you're getting a quality product. If you purchase an inflatable boat from a manufacturer that believes in quality your boat will last for many years.
So, what are the 3 things that your boat needs to have in common? I'm sure you can guess the first thing, but here they are (listed in no particular order).
  1. Quality Workmanship - Quality workmanship means that your boat is manufactured by a quality manufacturer. How do you know if a manufacturer makes a quality boat? First, they will have been in business for at least 10 years. Second, they will stand behind their products with money back guarantees so if you aren't satisfied the manufacturer will refund the money that was invested. Third, they will use quality materials to manufacture their inflatable canoes. You want to look for denier polyester-supported high-pressure fabric with electronic-welded seams.
  2. Manufacturer Warranty - Whatever type of inflatable boat you choose, make sure that the company you purchase from included a manufacturer warranty of at least two years. This way if something unusual happens, you're covered and your investment is safe. A manufacturer warranty of at least two years is very important when dealing with inflatable canoes of any kind. The longer the warranty, the better.
  3. Skegs For Maneuverability - Skegs are simply a pair of fins attached to the bottom inflatable canoe or kayak. Skegs allow you to track smoothly through the water as you paddle. Inferior inflatable canoes don't have skegs and wander across the top of the water, wasting your paddling effort.
A quality inflatable boat will usually cost from $300 to $1800 but will last you for many years. Keep in mind that it's not at all uncommon for quality inflatable canoes to last for at least 10 years! As long as whatever inflatable boat you choose has these 3 things in common, you'll be good to go and will be happy with your investment.

An Alternative to High Cost Canoes

For those of you in the market for a canoe, have you ever considered an inflatable canoe? In this day and age an inflatable canoe is truly a quality alternative to high cost canoes. A traditional canoe can cost upwards of $2,500 whereas a quality inflatable canoe can be purchased for under $500. This is a vast difference and one that any frugal shopper should be aware of. What's interesting about this is that an inflatable canoe can be every bit as durable and a ton more convenient than a traditional canoe.
So not only are inflatable canoes less expensive than traditional canoes, they are also more convenient. What do I mean by this? Simply the fact that an inflatable canoe can be inflated and deflated as needed makes it a ton more convenient than a traditional canoe. Imagine being able to carry your canoe in the trunk of your car, and then inflating it as needed. In many ways this is the very definition of convenience.
The biggest factor to consider in terms of inflatable canoes is the manufacturer. You want to purchase your inflatable canoe from a quality manufacturer. If you purchase from a quality manufacturer your inflatable canoe will last you for many years without any problems. So, how do you know that you're dealing with a quality manufacturer? There are a couple of things to look for.
A quality manufacturer of inflatable canoes will stand behind their products with things like money back guarantees, free shipping, and/or trial periods. These types of incentives tell you that the manufacturer believes in their products and is confident you will like them. If not, they will take care of you. These are some of the things to look for when in the market for an inflatable canoe.
The bottom line is that inflatable canoes are a true alternative to high cost canoes. Why spend thousands of dollars when you don't have to? As long as you buy from a quality manufacturer who stands behind their products, your inflatable canoe will perform and last as long as any traditional canoe. Do some research an find out for yourself all that inflatable canoes have to offer.

Which Type Suits You?

When you're in the market for a new boat, sometimes the cost of traditional boats is a bit overwhelming. Not only are traditional boats expensive, they are sometimes very inconvenient as well. Having to trailer your boat from here to there can become a real problem. If either of these issues has come up in your experience, it may be time to look into an inflatable boat.
There are a ton of different kinds of inflatable boats available on the market today, but which type is best for you? In this article, inflatable boats - which type suits you, I'm going to discuss some of the options that are available. With the convenience that inflatable boats offer the water lover, they have become a viable option for anyone (especially if they are interested in saving some money). The economical aspect of inflatable boats is hard to beat. In this article I'm going to lay out the options as best I can, with the hopes of helping you make an informed decision. Below, we will discuss the good points of each of the most popular varieties:
  • Inflatable Pontoon Boats - These boats are perfect for 1 or 2 people to travel a flowing river. They are basically two inflatable pontoons with a seat or two attached to the pontoons. These boats are really cool. They are great for those of you who like to fish in rivers. The amount of water that can be covered with the help of a personal pontoon boat will make walking and wading a thing of the past. With an inflatable pontoon boat an angler can float to a good stretch of river, stop, and then fish the stretch. This is an incredible advantage to any angler.
  • Kayaks - we all know what a kayak is, but in the case of inflatables there is probably more offered than you may think. Again, the convenience of being able to fit your kayak in the trunk of your vehicle is pretty neat. And the price difference between inflatable and traditional kayaks is significant. A kayak is a great way for 1 or 2 people to explore a lake as well as a river. Just because you're dealing with a kayak, doesn't mean you have to be dealing with whitewater.
  • Motor Mount Boats - These boats are what you may think of when you think of an inflatable boat, except for the fact that they have floorboards in them and motors can be attached to them. They come in various sizes and can fit from 3 to 7 adults comfortably! Runabouts are a viable alternative to spending tens of thousands of dollars on a "traditional" boat. Runabouts can also be called motor mount boats.
  • Personal Sailboats - That's right, there are even inflatable sail boats available in this day and age. These aren't big enough to sleep in or anything, but they are a nice little sail boat for 1 to 2 people. For those of you who love to sail, these are like little 'personal' sailboats. And again, they're inflatable, so they fit in the trunk of your car or the storage in your RV. What could be more convenient? Inflatable sail boats are becoming quite popular.
  • The Paddleski - Paddle ski's are a hybrid. Think of them as ½ kayak and ½ "normal" boat. A paddleski is probably the most versatile boat on the water, whether that boat is inflatable or not. A small motor can even be attached to a paddleski without any problem whatsoever. When it comes to versatility, a Paddleski may be your best bet.
  • Canoes - Okay, inflatable canoes are very much the same as inflatable kayaks, but they are a bit larger and wider. This means that for activities like fishing, an inflatable canoe is a great bet. On lazy rivers, an inflatable canoe could be just what the doctor ordered.
The bottom line is that you should now be able to figure out what type of inflatable boat is right for you. No matter what you're trying to accomplish on the water an inflatable boat can help. You may be an angler, explorer, kayaker, or sailing fanatic, whatever the case may be, and inflatable boat can offer you amazing convenience and affordability. Affordability is probably the biggest aspect of inflatable boats. Inflatable boats literally cost a fraction of a traditional boat.
So, the next time that you think a new boat is too expensive, keep in mind that there are options available. All you have to do is research your options a little bit, and keep an open mind. I'm not referring to "your mothers" inflatable boats. There are quality boats available for very affordable prices in today's marketplace.

Inflatable Boats - The Best Styles For Fishing

For many of us, traditional boats are economically out of reach, which makes us look at other alternatives. There of course are used boats available, but finding a quality and affordable used boat can be like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. This leads us to look for other alternatives to the cost of high priced boats.
About ten years ago, this search led me to discover inflatable boats. I've used many types of inflatable boats, and in this article I'm going to provide you with some of the good points about the styles that I've used for fishing. Use this information to your advantage if you're ever in the market for one of these watercraft.
  1. Float Tubes - While this style of inflatable boat is the smallest, it is probably the best known style for fishing. These are the boats that you sit in and fish from. In other words you are floating in the water, thus the name float tube. Float tubes are very popular among fly fishermen. If you're a spin fisherman float tubes can be fished from, but I personally find them clumsy and difficult use for spin fishing. Although they may seem like they would be uncomfortable, nothing could be further from the truth. Float tubes are extremely comfortable to sit in, and can be used for hours.
  2. Kayaks & Canoes - Inflatable kayaks and canoes are a great alternative to high priced boats. One of the keys to purchasing these inflatable boats is to buy a quality product. How do you know that you're dealing with a quality product? Make sure that the manufacturer stands behind their products with a money back guarantee. The other thing that the manufacturer should offer is a trial period, so you can find out for yourself how you like the boat. Inflatable canoes and kayaks are very versatile, and quite affordable, as well as being easy to fish from.
  3. Pontoons - What. You've never heard of an inflatable pontoon boat? These might be the best bet for almost any fisherman. Pontoons are my personal favorite and, and the style that I personally fish from 85% of the time. These inflatable boats allow you to sit much higher in the water, which I like, and in some cases actually have a platform to stand on. In other words you are completely above the water! The FoldCat pontoon boat is my personal favorite, and is great to fish from. The smaller 1-man pontoons are also great to fish from and open up otherwise inaccessible fishing areas.
Any of these styles of inflatable boats are great for fishing. Have their good and bad points, depending on your favorite type of fishing. For example, if you're a fly fisherman a float tube or 1 man pontoon is probably your best bet. If you're a bass fisherman on the other hand, a kayak or FoldCat will be right up your alley. The bottom line is that the 3 styles mentioned above are all great for fishing.

Not What You May Be Thinking

Would you love to have a boat to go fishing, or kayaking, or just exploring on your local lake or river? But don't have the thousands of dollars that are necessary to have a traditional boat? Or maybe you like to camp or have an RV and want a boat to take along with you that doesn't involve all the hassle of a trailer and such? It may be time for you to give inflatable boats a look see. Inflatable boats have come a long way since the days of that two person blue and white raft that you used to have when you were a kid.
Imagine being able to drive 20 miles into the mountains, then hiking a couple of miles to a secluded mountain lake? Then imagine doing the exact same thing with a boat? No pulling a trailer behind the vehicle or carrying a canoe? No, with an inflatable you can carry it in your vehicle and then in a backpack. With the help of a lightweight foot pump, you have a boat on the aforementioned lake! How nice would that be?
In the 21st century this isn't a dream, it's a reality. If you're in need of a boat (and don't have a ton of money) it may be time to look into a quality inflatable. There are all kinds of places to find info on such things, just do a search on the net. Inflatable boats are a truly affordable and convenient alternative to a traditional boat. Many years ago I bought a used "traditional" boat to save money. At the time it was an affordable alternative to my boat problem. To make a long and tedious story short, in the long run I wasted four times what the boat cost me, just maintaining it. It was a terrible experience. I won't buy a used boat ever again because of that experience.
Don't waste your time and money going through an experience such as the one I went through. In hindsight, a quality inflatable would have been the way to go. Not to mention the fact that had I bought a quality inflatable boat, I'd more than likely still have it today. And it would have cost my a fraction of the money the "traditional" boat cost me.
The bottom line, as I've said, is that inflatable boats have come a long way and are now a viable alternative when it comes to buying a boat. I realize what the idea of an inflatable boat conjures up in your mind, but what I'm saying is that they may not be what your thinking.
